Everyone’s favorite slime-centred isekai has finally gotten a fully featured long-form game in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Isekai Chronicles, which is out now. Developed by ZOC and published by Bandai Namco, players will be able to experience some of the anime's most pivotal moments and embark on new adventures in Central World.
While That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime does have one previous video game adaption, it’s a mobile gotcha game, and the jury is still out if those can be considered full video games in the more traditional sense. However, this new incarnation of Reincarnated as a Slime is a 2D side-scrolling hack-and-slash with light social sim, RPG and city-building mechanics, marking the first time that players are able to experience a full-length Slime game with a DLC roadmap to boot. Via Game Spark, the newest game trailer, released by Bandai Namco Entertainment on Aug. 7, 2024, can be seen below.

Reincarnated as a Slime: Isekai Chronicles Reveals New Trailer
Isekai Chronicles is a 2D side-scrolling hack and slash that's similar in style to Vanillaware cult classics such as Odin’s Sphere and Dragons Crown. Players can choose three characters from the anime’s extensive cast to take into battle, backed up by two support characters that will give the heroes super-attacks or passive buffs. Rimuru can learn new techniques by making use of the game’s social sim aspects, in which the Demon Lord can spend time with his teammates, playing out in a visual novel-esque style. The game is fully voiced in Japanese, with subtitles available for international players.
Outside of battle, players will spend time in The Jura Tempest Federation and engage in the game’s unique city-building aspect. This was actually a feature that was present in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Iseaki Memories, the mobile gatcha game. Players will be tasked with growing the Jura Tempest Federation from a small village to a massive town. New buildings built will grant characters with unique buffs and attract new characters to join your party. This section allows the player to free-roam in a 3D environment, with Rimuri able to take on additional side-quests by interacting with the town's inhabitants.
